Irish Gaelic

Irish Gaelic (Gaeilge na hÉireann) is spoken by 1.4 million speakers in Éire (Ireland) and Northern Ireland. Irish Gaelic has offical language status along with English. It is studied by all students in state primary and secondary schools, and public services are legally mandated to be available in both languages. Irish Gaelic belongs to the Goidelic branch of the Celtic language family and is related to Scottish Gaelic (Gàidhlig na h-Alba) and Manx (Gaelg Vanninagh).
